What is Alcyone ID?
Alcyone is the secure platform that allows people to create a self-sovereign, digital birth record that no one can ever take away from them.

What can it be used for?

Why is it better than passports, driver's licenses, or other digital ID systems?
Simply put: if some other agency owns your ID, you never did. It's issued to you, but controlled by another entity — which means if you need to show it, replace it, update it, or even control how much of it is exposed, you're limited by a bureaucracy designed, by default, to make that more difficult.

What else can Alcyone be used for?
ID for Vets is one example of how a community can gain access to services with a verified, self-sovereign digital ID (SSDID). Veterans who need access to services they've earned will soon have a fast, easy way to prove their service and get the resources owed to them.
We're also building a Foundation for communities to find those in need of a helping hand, identify the helpers, and fulfill needs you'd otherwise never know about. And we'll soon be enrolling people in areas with no access to resources — digital or otherwise — making 800 million people bankable for the first time in their lives.
